2012 Tennessee Tennis Officials Initiative

We need more tennis officials to work sanctioned USTA tournaments in Tennessee. The TTA will offer a reward of $300 for the first 10 individuals who become newly-qualified tennis officials and commit to working at least 4 sanctioned tournaments in Tennessee during 2012 and 2013. USTA Age Restructuring Starting With 2013 Championship Season

USTA League is improving its structure to enhance your playing experience starting with the 2013 Championship Season. Under the new structure, the USTA Southern program will have three divisions – Adult, Mixed Doubles, and Combo Doubles. The Adult Division is broken down into 18 & Over, 40 & Over, 55 & Over and 65 & Over, the Mixed Doubles will be 18 & Over and 40 & Over, and Combo Doubles will be 18 & Over, 40 & Over, and 55 & Over. Knoxville Team Thompson Ranks Third At 6.0 Senior Mixed Doubles Nationals

Congratulations to Knoxville's 6.0 Thompson team after winning 3rd place at National Championships in San Antonio, TX (March 30-April 1st, 2012). West Hills Groundbreaking!

What a wonderful turnout! Mayor Rogero, Ambassador Ashe and Dr. Fuhr were on hand for the ceremony, as well as Councilmen Grieve, Wallace, Saunders and Brown, showing support for this project. Many tennis players and community members also joined the festivities. The club house is becoming a reality due to generous contributions. GKTA, with many supporters, contributed $150,000 and the City of Knoxville contributed $220,000. Read More
